User's Guide

Latex vacuum beds are the ultimate tool for full body immobilization. Movement is nearly impossible once the air is removed from the bed, while still allowing for comfort and heightened physical sensations.

IMPORTANT: Latex is an air-tight fabric. Please educate yourself about the proper use of our vacuum beds to avoid injury or suffocation. Always use a latex bed with a responsible partner, and be sure to keep any obstructions from the airway at all times.

ASSEMBLY: Find a large, smooth and flat surface area to assemble the bed. The area should be large enough to walk around the vac bed easily once it is assembled. Make sure the area is free of debris or anything that could snag and rip the latex. DO NOT use a mattress, damage will likely occur to the vac bed.

Directions for assembling the vac bed without the frame can be found following the instructions for use.

Start by taking a pvc end tube with no elbows, and inserting it into the bottom channel. Attach a PVC elbow joint on the side farthest from the zipper. Insert a side tube on the side opposite the zipper, from top to bottom, and gently attach it to the elbow joint. Take care not to pinch the latex in the elbow joint, or to snag and stretch it on any of the pipes while inserting them. You can work from inside the bag, or gently move the pipes through the latex from the outside. Add the top pvc tube, but put the zipper side tube aside for now.

USE: It is very important that the user have one or more attendants while using this bag. The occupant should not be wearing any jewlery, belts, shoes, hair accessories, or anything else that could snag and tear the latex. Fingernails and toenails should be trimmed short or covered with soft socks and gloves. The user should sit at the side of the zipper, about half way down the bag, and slide slowly into the bag, feet first. The assistant should hold the top sheet up gently to keep it from blocking the user's airway until the breathing hole can be properly aligned with the user's mouth. Using a small length of tube as an air tube will help ensure the breathing passage will remain open. Make sure there is no stretching or stress on the breathing hole. If the genital hole will be used, make sure that is properly aligned as well.

After the occupant is safely in the bag and safety signals have been rehearsed, insert the zipper side frame tube from top to bottom and connect it with the elbow joints. Make sure the latex is not twisted or caught anywhere in the frame. Zip the bag up half way.

Place a vacuum hose a few inches away from the vac bed valve. Cup your hands around the vacuum tube and valve instead of placing the hose directly on the valve to ensure the vacuum will not suck air out so quickly that the bed is damaged or the occupant is uncomfortable. Check often with the occupant and allow them to acclimate slowly to the sensations of the bag. Once they are comfortable, zip the bag up compeltely and suck out the remaining air. Once the desired vacuum sensation has been reached, the vacuum can be shut off. Movement will be extremely limited or impossible, no additional restraints are necessary.

If the attendant and occupant want to engage in play, it is important to limit activities to those that will not harm the bag. No electrical devices should be used, and no clamps or extreme heat. The surface of the vacbed should be treated with lube to help decrease the risk of being scratched or snagged. Safe suggestions for play include the use of ice or warm items to stimulate the occupant, or the use or vibrators.

USING THE BED WITHOUT THE FRAME: Most of the precautions for using the bed without the frame are the same as with the frame. Make sure it is on a large, flat, supportive area with no debris or possible hazards to the latex. Using the bed without the frame allows for a bit more movement by the occupant, but offers a new latex bed experience.

PRECAUTIONS: This bed should not be used as a solo toy under any circumstances! An attendant should be present at all times and should check with the occupant concerning breathing ability and comfort often. The attendant/s should be close to the zipper to open it immediately if a situation occurs.

Do not use talc or latex polish on the inside of these bags. This products can build up in the lungs and be potentially hazardous. Find a water soluble powder to dust the bag and keep it from sticking.

CLEANING AND CARING FOR YOUR VACUUM BED:
If using the bed for play with mulitple users, wipe down the parts of the bed that have come in contact with skin with a 70% alcohol solution before the next user gets in the bag. Be sure to clean the mouthpiece and genital hole.

To thoroughly wash your vac bed before putting it back in storage, turn it inside out and submerge it in a tub of warm water and mild, unscented dish soap. turn it right side out again and clean the outside. Drain the bathtub and rinse the bag with cool water, removing any traces of soap.

Drape the bag over a railing so both sides can dry at once. A fan pointed at the bag will help reduce drying time. Once the outside is dry, lightly dust it with powder, and turn it inside out, and follow the same drying process for the inside. The vac bed will take 24 hours or more to dry completely. A hair dryer set on a cool setting can speed up the process. Wait at least 24 hours before folding and storing the bag.

When the bag is fully dry, fold it neatly, with the zipper lubed and open. Place a small tube wherever the zipper is bent to prevent kinking. Store in it's plastic bag in a cool, dark place, away from any sharp objects. Powdering it thoroughly with a water soluable powder prior to storage will help prolong the life of the bag.
